Think Security First! is designed to provide basic information relative to a safe computing environment.


The content  is intended to provide the user with baseline information about operating their computing environment safely.  It also addresses other issues affecting daily life such as Identity Theft which arises outside the world of computing as well.

The fifth session of the initial program was completed today and by unanimous agreement a consensus  was reached that a sixth review session was unnecessary.  Many students indicated that they were interested in more advanced classes and they were advised that is not currently a part of the Think Security First! agenda.  Each was encouraged to sign up for the mailing list so that they could follow the Think Security First! program.

Program Overview:  The Think Security First! program consists of five 1-1/2 hour classes with an optional sixth review class.

Learn to Think Security First! In today's world of surfing the Internet, there are many things that you can do to keep yourself, people you know, and your computer safe. The Think Security First! is a six-week program on topics such as; Identity Theft and Document Destruction, Malware and Phishing, Online Shopping and Banking, Computer Security and more. The initial topic is Identity Theft and Document Destruction. Learn how to protect yourself and what you should do if you believe you have become a victim. Safeguard your identity by destroying documents - both paper and digital. See the Course Syllabus for more detail and check out Links and Tips for useful information that may be of value to you.
